Kayaking for Beginners

We all have to start some where no matter what our interests are.  Many private clubs offer a kayak for beginners induction.
It is always a good idea to start with friends or at least be sure that there will be a few of you on the course.  Start with the basics before you even venture onto the water you will be grateful of the valuable safety advise should you run into trouble.  Choose your initial outing carefully, remember that water ways can be unpredictable.
Many people take up the activity because they love the feeling of gliding across the water and the peace and tranquility of it all.  Other people take up kayaking because they love adventure.  Some people love the social aspect of meeting in a group of people.  What ever your reasons for taking up the sport your needs will be met, this is the beauty of kayaking.
Kayaking can put extreme pressure on your upper body muscles, so if you are a novice please bear this in mind.  Having said that kayaking is a fantastic way of building upper body strength.
So start with a kayaking for beginners course and test the water, so to speak, you will soon discover if this wonderful pastime is something you would like to pursue.
